I LOVE my fruit! Especially now with all the berries and melons in season. I'm in Heaven! But some people treat fruit like it's the F word. They say you should avoid it because of all the sugar.
Since I've transitioned to a whole food plant based diet, I have been staying away from refined sugar. But does that mean I shouldn't eat fruit?
Then I saw an article from Forks Over Knives (See below the video for the actual link) and had to share the information. It basically points out that there is a HUGE difference between sugar from refined sugar and from fruit. Fruit contains fiber and antioxidants, refined sugar does not. Fruit lowers cholesterol, reduces heart disease and strengthens the immune system. Refined sugar does not.
Check out this short video below, to get the down low on fruit. And fruit lovers unite! Fruit is NOT the F-word (well, it is but it's just not a BAD F word).
Now go eat your berries, bananas! #eatyourfruit, #wellnesswednesday
